Meet The Speakers

Lawrence

Lawrence Mbuagbaw, MD, MPH, PhD

Dr Lawrence Mbuagbaw is a Research Methods Consultant and Clinical Epidemiologist.  He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact, McMaster University, and Director of the Biostatistics Unit at St Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton where he provides support for the design, analysis and reporting of clinical research. His research interests are methodological research, engagement in HIV care, mHealth and health systems strengthening.

Cynthia

Cynthia Lokker, PhD, MSc

Dr. Cynthia Lokker is Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University, and a health research methodologist and researcher in the Health Information Research Unit. Her research focuses on leveraging information retrieval and summarization approaches, particularly machine learning and natural language processing, to support evidence-based medicine and knowledge translation. She has expertise in digital health and evaluating mobile health applications.
